Swipe, Scroll, All Alone: Our Shallow State of Modern Relationships

Understanding the unhealthy state of our relationships and how we can all feel more understood, valued and happy.

Join Michael Goodstone, PhD, FSC Professor of Psychology and recent recipient of the President’s Award for Academic Leadership, for a conversation about the disturbing state of relationships in our modern world and what we can do to feel more connected, understood and valued. Dr. Goodstone will share data indicating how people increasingly feel isolated and lonely despite the dramatic rise in the volume of daily communication. Learn how society arrived at a place where we rarely get to meaningfully know each other and what we can do to enhance our connections and satisfaction in all of our relationships.  Dr. Goodstone is a psychologist with dual specialization in organizational and clinical psychology. His main area of practice for the past thirty years has been psychological assessment of individuals who perform critically important job functions.
